Members of the Civil Protection Department today exhibited their skills and equipment during an open day at the Hal Far fire station.

This event was held to commemorate the Civil Protection Day, where the voluntary groups and NGO's where invited. Amongst others the EMCOMM group within the MARL where also invited.

Activities included practical demonstrations in abseiling, fire fighting, dog handling, HAZMAT, diving and heavy and light rescue.

Personnel mingled with the public who asked questions about the department and its duties. At the MARL (Malta Amateur Radio League ) stand one could watch the live shows being transmitted via ATV 1.2GHz.
